Casey Messer, DDS

Dr. Casey Messer was valedictorian of her Marinette High School class and graduated summa cum laude from Northern Illinois University with a degree in Biological Sciences. She went on to graduate magna cum laude from Marquette University School of Dentistry with her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. One of her main priorities is to provide her patients with a comfortable and caring environment. It’s of primary importance to her to build rapport and trust with them in order to provide the best possible care. While discussing a personalized treatment plan, Dr. Messer always likes to be extremely thorough and make sure that patients understand why she recommends certain treatments; ultimately, the treatment plans are a joint effort to give patients the confidence and smile they’ve always dreamed of.

Born and raised in Marinette, WI, Dr. Messer always knew she wanted to work in healthcare. The biggest factors that drew her into this field were wanting to make a difference in people’s lives and knowing she would enjoy caring for the needs of others. With dentistry, she is able to do those things while building meaningful relationships with her patients. She also loves that dentistry gives her the ability to pay attention to detail and use her creativity to transform smiles.

Outside of the office, Dr. Messer loves spending time with her husband and high school sweetheart, Kyle, and their mini Goldendoodles, Millie and Mia. She and Kyle enjoy staying active, whether it’s running, going on walks with Millie, golfing (Dr. Messer played Division I golf on an athletic scholarship at Northern Illinois University), playing beach volleyball, or participating in slow pitch softball leagues. Summer in Wisconsin is a favorite time for Dr. Messer: she loves to be out in the sun and to go boating with family and friends.

Dr. Messer and her husband recently moved to Green Bay area and cannot wait to explore the city. They are huge Packers fans and love attending games. From the first day she visited our Green Bay Smiles office, Dr. Messer was impressed with how friendly, welcoming, and hardworking our staff is. She knows that this family-like atmosphere is crucial to us delivering a great experience for patients. Dr. Messer is also excited to be a part of a practice that keeps up to date on the most modern dental technologies to provide the best possible care to our patients and the Green Bay community.

Aaron Bushong, DDS

Dr. Aaron Bushong completed his dental education at Marquette University, where he graduated with honors and received recognition for excellence in clinical restorative dentistry. Since graduating, Dr. Bushong has remained committed to providing the highest level of care and keeping up with the latest in dental technology. As a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, he regularly attends continuing education courses focusing primarily on cosmetic dentistry, full mouth reconstruction, CAD/CAM (CEREC) technology, and implantology, as well as endodontics, oral surgery, and Invisalign®/short-term orthodontics.

A native of Rhinelander, Dr. Bushong has lived in the state of Wisconsin his entire life. Before attending Marquette, he went to the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee on an athletic scholarship, playing on two NCAA tournament baseball teams and also pitching for the Wausau Woodchucks during their 2001 championship season. It was during that summer with the Woodchucks that Dr. Bushong met his wife, Jenell. He and Jenell, herself a nurse practitioner, have three young children–Breanne, Jack, and Emily.

In his spare time, Dr. Bushong enjoys spending as much time as possible with his growing family, traveling, camping, golfing, being outdoors, and cheering on Wisconsin sports teams, especially the Packers, Brewers, and Badgers. He also serves as a volunteer baseball coach at Wausau East High School and with other area baseball youth camps.

Dr. Bushong has a strong attachment to the Green Bay community, and he values the relationships he’s established over the years here at Green Bay Smiles. Though he does not work in the office as frequently as in years past, his professional focus continues to be providing our patients with the highest quality dental care possible in a warm and friendly environment. To that end, he is extremely pleased to have welcomed Dr. Casey Messer to the practice.

Administration

Maureen – Administration

Maureen is originally from Menominee, Michigan. After graduating from Menominee High School, she went on to attend Northwest Wisconsin Technical College for a few years. A career on the administrative side of the dental field was a natural choice for her because she is a people person and loves talking to patients. She joined our Green Bay Smiles team in the spring of 2023. When it comes to her overall approach to this work, Maureen always wants people to get the best care possible and to receive the treatment that works best for their individual needs. In addition to her welcoming personality and way with people, she brings to our office a great deal of experience working with insurance. Her favorite thing about working in our office is the people she gets to work with. Outside of work, Maureen loves spending time with her husband of over 10 years, Sam; their two wonderful kids, Colin and Ellie; and their dog. Her family loves sports, camping, swimming, and cheering on their favorite teams: the Packers, Brewers, and Michigan Wolverines. One interesting fact about Maureen: the first time she ever flew on an airplane was December of 2022, when she was almost 40 years old!

Gina – Administration

Gina is originally from Kingsford, Michigan. She has spent over eight years working in the dental field, most recently as the office manager of her previous employer. This experience, along with her communication skills, attention to detail, and welcoming disposition, has made a very positive impact on our team and our patients. She is truly a team player, committed to helping out her teammates wherever she can. And she always places patient care at the center of what she does.
Outside of the office, Gina enjoys spending time with her husband, their adult son, and their three dogs. Some of her favorite activities include camping, going to concerts, and gardening.

Dental Hygienists

Nancy – Dental Hygienist & Practice Historian

Nancy is originally from Menominee, Michigan, and attended school at Ferris State University and Concordia University of Wisconsin. She enjoys building relationships with our patients, and wants them to feel comfortable and ask questions so that she can provide them with information about the relationship between their oral and overall health. Nancy has been with our team since 1994 and still looks forward to coming into the office. She doesn’t consider this a job as much as a calling. She states, “I am grateful to be allowed to practice clinically as well as to be free to do consulting and speaking in my other roles as a hygienist.” Outside of the office, Nancy enjoys reading and doing outdoor activities like walking and kayaking along the shores of the Bay, where she lives with her fiancé and their pets.

Kim – Dental Hygienist

Kim grew up in Wisconsin Rapids. From an early age, she wanted to enter the dental field in order to help people see the importance of oral health to their overall health. She earned her degree in dental hygiene from Northcentral Technical College in 1986, where she was awarded the Carol Bauhs Benson Scholarship. Kim joined our Green Bay Smiles team in December of 2018, and she has had an immediate positive impact on our patients and office. One of the things she likes best about our office is that everyone works together and chips in where needed to deliver the best care possible for our patients. When she’s not at work, Kim loves to spend time with her family, especially her husband, Scott, her three grown children, and her grandchildren. Some of her favorite activities are gardening, sewing, biking, and being involved in her church. She has also had a great time racing sail boats on Lake Michigan and in Green Bay. Kim is also an active member of the American Dental Hygienists’ Association and the Wisconsin Dental Hygienists’ Association.

Stacy – Dental Hygienist

Stacy was born and raised in Bellevue, and she still lives and raises her family in that community. She graduated from Green Bay East High School and went on to study and earn degrees in Dental Assisting and Dental Hygiene from Northeast Wisconsin Technical College. Stacy then earned her Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources from Concordia University, graduating magna cum laude. She works part-time as dental adjunct faculty at NWTC helping in various roles, as well as teaching Dental Health Safety/Infection Control. Stacy knew she wanted to enter the dental field as early as 7th and 8th grade, when she was in braces and always loved going to the dentist’s office. She firmly believes that all patients should have enough information to make their own informed choices for their dental health. She stays current by taking many continuing education courses and reading dental journals. What she enjoys most about Green Bay Smiles is the family-like atmosphere and, with that, the overall friendliness and helpfulness of our team. Outside of work, Stacy loves to spend time with her family, especially her husband, Rob, their two children, Emily and Noah, and their chocolate lab, Ruger. While her two young children keep her very busy, she also enjoys baking, hiking, and watching Packers games.

Jennifer – Dental Hygienist

Jennifer, one of our experienced and talented dental hygienists, was born and raised in Kingsford, Michigan. After graduating high school, she earned her associate’s degree from Northeast Wisconsin Technical College. Having worked as a hygienist in the field for a number of years, she joined our Green Bay Smiles team in the spring of 2022. When it comes to her approach to dental care, Jennifer always focuses on helping patients to improve their dental routine, while introducing them to treatment they didn’t know could help them. In addition to her skills and extensive experience, she brings to our team a welcoming and positive disposition, in addition to her commitment to patient education and care. Outside of the office, Jennifer loves to spend time with her husband, their two daughters, and their dog, Chloe. Some of her favorite activities include traveling, hiking, and running.

Jenna – Dental Hygienist

Jenna joined our Green Bay Smiles team in the summer of 2023. Originally from Green Bay, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point and went on to gain her associate’s degree with honors in Dental Hygiene from Northeast Wisconsin Technical College. What drew her to the dental field was her experience growing up with a great dental office and shadowing that program during high school. Jenna’s biggest emphasis when it comes to dental care is education about oral health to give patients the knowledge for a healthy mouth and body. Her knowledge of dental products, her communication skills on the way to forming relationships with patients, and her compassion for everyone who sits in her chair make her an invaluable addition to our team. Since joining Green Bay Smiles, she loves how friendly and welcoming everyone is — having been our patient before becoming our hygienist, she loves helping patients love their smiles the way our team did for her. Outside of work, Jenna loves to spend time with her husband, Logan, and their two golden retrievers and two cats. Her favorite things to do are spending time on the water — boating, kayaking, jet skiing, and paddle boarding. She also loves to travel and has been to a few different states and two other countries. One interesting fact about Jenna: she loves the Christmas holiday so much, she has a Christmas sweater for every day of December.

Dental Assistants

Taylor – Dental Assistant

Taylor was born and raised here in Green Bay. After graduating from Preble High School, she went on to graduate and earn her certificate in Dental Assisting from Northeast Wisconsin Technical College. She became part of our Green Bay Smiles team in the winter of 2022. Taylor always wanted to do something in healthcare, and she was first drawn to the dental field when she needed to wear braces for an extended period of time. An empathetic person, she always works to make every patient as comfortable as confident in their smile as possible. Along with her warm and positive attitude, she brings a great sense of humor to our team. What she enjoys most about working in our office is our team and our patients and the relationships she has formed at work. Outside of work, Taylor loves spending time with her mom, dad, and her sister, Ashley, who are her biggest supporters. A couple of her favorite activities are playing volleyball and working out. One fun fact about Taylor: she’s left-handed.

Asly – Dental Assistant

Asly is originally from Virginia but grew up in Green Bay. She graduated from Southwest High School and then went on to college at Minnesota State University in Mankato. She joined our Green Bay Smiles team in the spring of 2022. What made her interested in joining the dental field is the fact that she always enjoyed going to the dentist and having a good smile. She has wanted to be a dental hygienist and is still in the process of achieving that goal. If she were to encourage patients with any advice on dental care, it’s pretty simple: regularly brush, floss, use mouth wash, drink lots of water, and limit your sugary drinks. She brings to our office a helpful disposition, patience, and the skill to operate in a busy office environment. She is always there to make patients feel at home and to help out her teammates. What she enjoys most about working in our Green Bay Smiles office is the people she works with and the fact that she gets to learn new things each and every day. When she isn’t in the office, Asly loves spending time with friends and family, going to the gym, and playing tennis. One interesting fact about Asly: she’s a Leap Year Day baby, so she’s only had five official birthdays so far.

Melissa – Dental Assistant

Melissa joined our Green Bay Smiles team in May of 2021. Originally from Portland, Oregon, she graduated from Reynolds High School and got her dental assisting education from Concorde Career College. What first got her interested in the dental field were her early experiences of going to the dentist, which she always enjoyed. Melissa was a great fit with our staff from the beginning, owing to her experience, her positivity, and her commitment to always doing her very best for our patients and our team. She loves the fact that Green Bay Smiles is an office where everyone is very kind and puts the care of patients at the center of everything. When she isn’t at work, Melissa loves to be in the company of her husband and their pets: They have a mixed breed dog, Sulley, and a cat named Binx. Melissa is a very spontaneous person, and she loves to travel and see and experience new things. She and her husband want to eventually travel all 50 states and several other countries: tops on their list of places to see are Mt. Rushmore, Alaska, Hawaii, Mexico, and the Bahamas.
