When your tooth is impacted, it means that it is lodged in your jaw. This usually occurs when there is not enough room for it to grow naturally into place in the dental arch.

It is normal to experience mild discomfort and swelling after your impacted tooth has been surgically removed. You can alleviate swelling and pain using a cold compress or icepack. Our dentist may also prescribe pain medication, which you should use as directed.

Treat the surgical site as you would an extracted tooth, and maintain a soft diet for a few days until the site heals.
